Millburn Matters is a local student-led organization with the goal of publishing a newspaper for the residents of the Millburn Township with accurate, reliable, non-partisan, and timely news and information in order to promote civic engagement and education within the community.
Our Team


London Peterson
London is a committed writer and a sophomore at Millburn High School. She enjoys writing about local legislature, student life, and opinionated pieces. She is excited to be a founding member of our team and working with her peers.

Andrew Kapp
Andrew is from Short Hills and a Junior at the Delbarton School (C 2027). He participates in Varsity Cross Country, Winter Track, Spring Track, and Public Forum debate; as Vice-President of the Business & Economics and Investment Club, he manages a portfolio from his school's endowment and organizes events, while also tutoring in Latin, coordinating a financial literacy initiative, working on the rocketry team, and a Spring umpire for MSHYB. Andrew enjoys and looks forward to writing about history, business, and local policy.

Mischa Williams-Owolabi
Mischa is a junior at Millburn High School with a passion for writing and storytelling. She started with her elementary school newspaper and now teaches a writing workshop for children while contributing to her high school newspaper and French literary magazine. An aspiring Eagle Scout and member of the Student Liaison, she also plays on the Millburn lacrosse team and loves volunteering and traveling.


Talia Brookhim
Talia is a sophomore at Millburn High School and a passionate journalist who finds comfort in writing. She enjoys writing about local news, politics, and student life. In her free time, Talia is a dedicated dancer and avid traveler who loves immersing herself in different cultures and communities, always looking for the next story to tell.

Olivia Liang
Olivia Liang is currently a junior at Millburn High School. and is super excited to be part of Millburn Matters. She likes to cover politics, current events, and student life. Outside of school, she is a part of the girls' varsity tennis team and enjoys spending time with friends and traveling.

Jhanvi Wong
Jhanvi is a student journalist passionate about uncovering local stories and giving a voice to her community. She writes about justice, culture, and curiosity with a purpose.


Mia Barghout
Hi, my name is Mia Barghout and i’m a junior at Millburn High School. I’m looking forward to being apart of the Millburn Matters Newspaper, and reporting on the latest in Millburn. I am a Team USA figure skater, and enjoy teaching and volunteering at the county ice rink with hockey, figure skating, and the special olympics!

Malia Baumann
Hi! My name is Malia Baumann, and I’m a junior. I’ve always loved expressing myself through creativity. I’ve written for my summer camp’s newspaper, which was such a great way to share stories with the community and connect with others. When I’m not writing, I usually spend my time singing or dancing. I’m really excited to be part of this newspaper and can’t wait to learn, grow, and contribute as both a writer and reader.

Connor Qiao
My name is Connor. I am currently a sophomore at Delbarton. I enjoy singing and debate.

Lily Kapp
Lily Kapp is a junior at Choate Rosemary Hall. She is excited be a founder of the millburn matters newspaper. At school she writes for other publications and has a large interest in STEM and economics.
